Thomas Pate Charged with
Wife's Murder

Micah Pate's Body Found Friday

BARTLETT, Tenn. - Bartlett Police have formally charged Thomas Pate with Second Degree Murder in the death of his wife, Micah Denise Pate.

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies located Micah Pate's body off Brunswick Road at the Loosahatchie River at 8:15pm Friday.

Micah was reported missing by her husband around 10:30pm Thursday after she reportedly did not return from her regular evening jog.

Investigators named Thomas Pate as a suspect in his wife's disappearance after extensive interviews and a thorough search of the couple's Bartlett home Friday. Thomas later told police where to find his wife's body.

Thomas Pate is being held in the Bartlett City Jail.

No bond has been set.

It is not known at this time when Thomas Pate will make his first appearance in court.

BRUNSWICK, Tenn. - Investigators have located the body of 26-year old Micah Pate, missing since Thursday night when she left her home for a routine jog.

Shelby County Sherriff's deputies located her body around 8:15pm Friday night off Brunswick Road near the Loosahatchie River.

At a news conference shortly following the discovery of Pate's body, Lt. Rory Mack with the Bartlett Police stated that details surrounding her death will not be released pending a report from the Shelby County Medical Examiner.

Micah's husband Thomas Pate reported her as missing around 10:30pm when she never returned from her regular run.

Thomas was identified as a suspect by investigators, and then told police where to find her body. Thomas Pate is currently in police custody; he is expected to be officially charged with his wife's murder Saturday.
