We just cuddled instead of playing Wii-I didn't mind

This Thanksgiving was spent at home with just the 5 of us. Jordan, Kennedy and I made the dinner. It was so much fun and the food was wonderful-all day long! Although our family couldn't be with us, we brought them along in some of the foods:

Grandma's sticky buns for breakfast (Jordan's mom)

Nonna's dressing (my grandmother)

Oreo Ice Cream Cake for desert (Jordan's grandmother)

Corn casserole (Amy, our sister-in-law)

Mashed potatoes (Jordan's grandpa's recipe)

We also had green bean casserole, roles and macaroni and cheese for Jackson, who seems to be picky and a vegetarian!
We kicked off the morning with our tradition of Grandma's sticky buns and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then we enjoyed our lunch! After Jordan, Kennedy wanted to say a prayer. She thanked God for Jordan making potatoes and desert and for me making the turkey and casseroles and for herself making the dressing and for Jackson, for doing nothing-we got such a kick out of that!

That afternoon (after a nap!) we took the kids out to play on the nature path and bridge down the stairs behind our house. Then after we got back and before dinner, we wrote down something nice about each person and then read it aloud. Kennedy pointed out that we didn't say what we were thankful for, so we went around and said that, too! Later, Kennedy cut out what everyone said and I'm putting it in a book that I hope to add to each year. We finished the evening off with some Wii. What a great day!

There is so much to be thankful for and I'm thankful to God for His many blessings.

I really enjoyed all the pics! Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving; I'm so glad! Sometimes it is nice to celebrate with just your own immediate family...other times it's kinda sad! :) We, too, had a Happy Thanksgiving. I like the nature trail near your house. That's really cool. Our kids would love something like that! Do you like your Wii? We have one wrapped under our Christmas tree this year... :) I'm excited!
